Crafty

I am so crafty lately! I want to make things and I have ideas running through my head 24/7. It's so fun. My mom gave me 2 old end tables that are a little beaten up, the smaller one I decided to use in B's room so I sanded it down and put a primer on it. Now I'm waiting for it to dry so I can add another coat then it's going to be painted a light pink to match her bedding. I also plan on making her curtains as soon as I can get to Joanns to buy some material. I think I'm just going to make them plain pink like her table. Her room is green and her bedding is pink/green/white/yellow so a lot of colors match. Since we are moving everything upstairs before any new flooring/carpet is put in we'll just have to deal with the old nasty stuff for now and put a small rug in her room. It's turning out so nice, we get so many compliments on what we've done to the house so far. But our landlord wasn't very happy that we changed the wood trim to white. I'm not really sure why, the old wood stuff was gross! Whoever painted this house before didn't tape off the windows or trim so there was paint splatters everywhere and it looked horrible after we got the living room painted so we decided to change it. I think it looks great and it really brightened up the room.

I made 2 baby blankets for a friend of mine who is having a little girl in March. They turned out so cute! I was so proud of myself. One side is made of minky and the other is cotton so its nice and soft. I heard minky is really hard to work with but I didn't have to much trouble other then it is slippery and messy! I got fuzz everywhere. I'll post pictures of them as soon as I get them off my camera.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I didn't mention this before. Did anyone hear about the shootings at Fort Hood yesterday?! I got a text from my mom saying "shooting in fort hood ,7 dead, jeremy is ok" I was like WHAT?!?! Jeremy is my brother and he is stationed there. We are really close, I hate that he joined the army because I can't imagine losing him. I freaked out and rushed to my moms work where we watched Obama give a speech on the whole thing, which I didn't like, he didn't seem sympathetic at all he was just reading off a piece of paper. It's nice to know that my brother was safe and out of harms way but how tragic, 12 dead and over 30 injured. I just can't imagine what those families are going through, they are in our thoughts and prayers.
